Over a two-day competition held in intense heat, Bay View’s Guy Taylor, Jack Halka, Terry McGurk, Jo Johanson, Wayne Parker, John Garnham and Ray Scott won this season’s elite men’s inter-club by defeating Taradale by one match point at Kia Toa Bowling Club.

Bay View will represent HB for the regional inter club at Palmerston North 10 Feb 2018.   

The premier interclub event of the season (where winning teams have the opportunity to win a National title) will be held this coming weekend.

Division One at Kia Toa BC: six teams – Hastings (title holders), Waipukurau, Napier, Taradale, Havelock North and Bay View.

Division two (section 1) at Bowls Napier: Bluff Hill, National Service, Hastings Blue, Taradale A, Omarunui. Kia Toa.

Division Two (section 2) at National Service: Hastings Yellow, National Service, Bay View, Havelock North (title holders) and Taradale B.

Format: Singles 21 shots, Pairs 18 ends, Fours 15 ends – or 2 and three-quarter hours time limit.
